Think Denominator Limited is the controller for the personal information described here. We collect what we need to provide our website, tools, learning and workshops, and explain separately when a field is optional.
What this notice covers
This notice covers thinkdenominator.com, its browser-based research tools, Think Denominator Learn, protected workshop access and enquiries sent to us.
Information we use
Website and tools. Hosting and security services may process routine request information such as IP address, requested page, time and browser details. The PRISMA and CONSORT tools record limited actions such as opening a tool or downloading an output. The numbers, labels and project files entered into those tools remain in your browser unless you choose to download them.
Optional analytics. If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 measures website and documentation use, which may involve browser identifiers, pages visited, approximate location and device details. It is not loaded on the main website before your choice. You can decline or change your choice through Analytics settings. Learn does not load this optional analytics script.
Learning account. An email address and password are needed to create an account. Supabase handles authentication; Think Denominator does not receive your readable password. A learning profile may include a name, a certificate name and an optional country. Country helps us understand the geographic reach of learning and is reported only in aggregate; we do not fill missing country from an IP address. Some existing profiles also contain fields collected under earlier registration forms, such as institution or career level. The current registration form does not ask for these fields.
Learning and workshops. We record access grants and their source, enrolment, cohort and invitation information where applicable, explicit activity/progress evidence, assessment attempts, canonical completion or attendance records, and certificates. Progress and completion are different records. A workshop organiser may supply a name or email to arrange an invitation and may receive attendance or completion information where this has been explained for that workshop. Workshop access can end without erasing learning history.
Certificate verification. A person with a certificate reference may see the holder-name snapshot, award type, offering, award date and active/revoked status needed to verify it. Assessment answers, email addresses and learner identifiers are not public verification fields. A certificate can record completion or attendance and should describe only what was verified.
Enquiries and feedback. The Contact form asks for your name, email address, enquiry type and message. Netlify handles the request and Resend delivers the email to us. We do not add you to a marketing list or keep a separate website database of enquiries. We retain the resulting email only as long as needed to respond and meet applicable obligations. Optional course feedback, where offered, is not required for completion or a certificate.
Independent Learn accounts are intended for adults aged 18 or over. Registration asks for confirmation without collecting a date of birth or identity document. Organisations planning learning for younger participants should contact us before supplying their information.
Learn does not currently take online payments. We will update this notice and provide relevant purchase information before introducing paid learning.

We do not use learning data for advertising or infer missing learner geography from IP addresses. The decisions needed to determine completion are set by the published offering rule, not by website visits or a certificate alone.
Who receives information
Netlify hosts the website and Learn application. Supabase provides learning authentication and database services. Resend is used for transactional email where configured. Google receives optional analytics information only after consent. Workshop organisers receive participant information only as described for their arrangements. We do not sell personal information.
Service providers may process information outside the UK. Where a restricted transfer occurs, we use the applicable legal transfer safeguards and can provide information about them on request.
How long we keep information
Retention depends on the record and any active access, certificate-verification, legal or rights-request obligation. Some learning activity records follow a 12-month deletion or aggregation schedule and assessment attempts a 24-month schedule; workshop access records are reviewed after access ends. Certificate verification and governance records may need longer, reviewed retention. We do not delete active workshop obligations merely because an offering is hidden from the catalogue.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, or obtain a portable copy. You can withdraw analytics consent through Analytics settings. Rights are not absolute; if we need to retain a limited record, we will explain why. We normally respond to a rights request within one month.
