What this notice covers
This notice covers the public Think Denominator website, its browser-based flow diagram tools, and enquiries sent to us by email. A course, workshop organiser, or external learning platform may provide additional privacy information when you register.
Information we process
Website delivery and security
Our hosting provider may process routine technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as your IP address, browser or device information, the page requested, and the date and time of the request.
Tool usage counts
The PRISMA and CONSORT generators record a small number of actions—such as opening a tool, saving a project, or downloading an image—to help us understand whether the free tools are useful.
The numbers, labels, study details, and project files you enter are not sent to Think Denominator. They remain in your browser unless you choose to download a file to your device. Tool events contain the tool name, action name, and time; they are not used to build individual user profiles.
Google Analytics
If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use the website, workshop materials and package documentation. It may process pages visited, interactions, approximate location, browser and device information, and identifiers used to distinguish browsers and sessions. We use these data to improve our tools and learning materials, not for advertising or individual profiling.
Google Analytics is not loaded until you select Accept analytics. We rely on your consent for this processing. You can change your choice using the Analytics settings button displayed on the website.
Email enquiries
If you email us, we process your email address, message, and any information or attachments you choose to send so that we can respond and keep an appropriate record of the enquiry.
Why we use this information
We rely on our legitimate interests to operate and secure the website, answer enquiries, understand aggregate use of our free resources, and improve them. Where an enquiry concerns a service or agreement, processing may also be necessary to take steps at your request or perform that agreement.
We balance these purposes against your rights, minimise the information collected, and do not use website activity for advertising.
Who receives information
We use service providers that support website hosting, security, email and, when you consent, Google Analytics. They process information on our behalf or under their own legal responsibilities. Information may be processed outside the United Kingdom where a provider operates internationally; in that case, the provider’s contractual and legal safeguards apply.
We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to protect legal rights. We do not sell personal information.
How long we keep it
Technical and tool-event logs are retained only for the limited period made available by our hosting service and are used for security and aggregate reporting. Google Analytics data are retained according to the retention period configured for our GA4 property. Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to answer the enquiry and meet reasonable operational, accounting, or legal requirements. We review records and remove them when they are no longer needed.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or object to the use of your personal information, and to receive a portable copy. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
